Dr. Tyler Powell, DDS, AEGD

Tyler was born and raised in Saline, MI. Since the age of six, Tyler knew he was going to be a dentist. Growing up surrounded by family and friends in the dental field, he saw how dentistry could change lives and wanted to follow in the footsteps of his mother, Dr. Lisa Powell. Tyler attended the University of Michigan Dental School. There he met his best friend and love of his life, Kiera, who has been by his side ever since. Together they have motivated and pushed each other to become the best clinicians possible. After dental school, Kiera and Tyler left Michigan with their two dogs to further their education in dentistry as part of an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program in Wichita, Kansas. There they have learned advanced procedures and utilized the newest technology alongside many specialists in the field, but cannot wait to return to Michigan to provide comprehensive treatment to the patients of Smiles for Life. Tyler is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon based on academic achievement and received the Russell W. Bunting award in Periodontics.

Dr. Kiera Powell, DDS, AEGD

Kiera Powell came from generations of dentistry, even going back as far as her great-grandpa who owned a dental practice in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Each generation served as inspiration for the next to pursue dentistry from the obvious love and admiration they had for the profession and their patients. For Kiera, it was no different. She went to the University of Michigan Dental School, to continue the legacy started by her great-grandfather. There, she met Tyler, and it was nearly love at first sight. From there they were able to grow their relationship and fall in love with the profession together. They realized that they were passionate about the continuous learning that comes with the profession of dentistry, the important link between oral and systemic health, and the incredible task of taking care of generations of patients throughout their entire lives. They could not be more excited to serve their new patients alongside the fantastic Smiles for Life team. Kiera is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon based on academic achievement and received the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Scholarship award as well as the William S. Kramer Award of Excellence. Finally, she received the American Association of Orthodontics award (AAO) due to her deep interest in the study of orthodontics during dental school.

Tammy

Hi! My name is Tammy. I have been a dental hygienist for 31 years. I graduated from the University of Michigan. GO BLUE! I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 33 years. We have 2 kids: a daughter who teaches technology and a son who is a police officer. When I am not cleaning teeth, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, Trigger. We love to camp, kayak and have campfires.
